Our Quality system

At Acierto, six quality control parameters are applied before delivering the final translation to a client.

1. Material Consistency Control: all the elements of the translation are present; everything to be translated has been translated; the translation is in the requested format; the spelling and grammar are correct; the terminology used is homogeneous and conforms to the specifications; the various elements such as page numbers, headings and footnotes are in proper place; style sheets have been observed, etc.
2. Linguistic, Stylistic and Phrasing Control: the translation is perfectly readable; the syntax is faultless; the punctuation is correct; the writing is clear, smooth, simple, easily understood, and meets with stylistic specifications; the expected degree of care has been secured; the wording is suitable from the viewpoint of the objectives pursued, the intended medium, and the target audience.
3. Technical and Semantical Quality Control: all the information and data are accurate, accessible and understandable; all necessary information is present and there is no parasitic information; the reasoning is sound and effective; the translation is coherent, well organized and structured; plain and unambiguous logical connectors are used.
4. Transfer Quality Control: the translation conforms to specifications and suits the expressed need; functional entities (defined according to the principle of equivalence) are in keeping with the specifications; all pertinent content is present and in order; allowance has been made for psychological and cultural differences; the expected degree of care has been secured.
5. Functional Quality Control: controlling functional quality means making sure that the material translated and subsequently reconstructed actually works properly, as in the case of computer program translation, where the code must be run at this phase of the quality system.
6. Uniformity Control: this check consists of verifying that the terminology, style, tone, formats and other such parameters are uniform throughout.
